About Hagerstown Youth Hockey Association

Hagerstown Youth Hockey Association, Inc. (HYHA) is a Section 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the following purposes:

  • To educate young people in the Hagerstown area in the rules and skills of the game of ice hockey;
  • To provide an organized ice hockey program for the youth of the Hagerstown area with participation and developmental opportunities;
  • To develop hockey players for the Hagerstown Youth Hockey Association Hockey programs, Washington County High School Varsity and Junior Varsity levels, and other area high school club programs;
  • To provide for participation through scholarship in cases of need as determined in the sole discretion of the Board of Directors
  • To operate as a non-profit association of members and to expend any excesses of revenue over expense for the improvement and promotion of the activities of the Corporation.

We begin hockey education at the earliest ages generally age 4-5. As they develop we organize ice hockey teams and play as the Hagerstown Bulldogs.

HYHA Affiliations

Hagerstown Youth Hockey Association (HYHA) is a USA Hockey club in the USA Hockey Southeastern District, under the Potomac Valley Amateur Hockey Association, the Affiliate that is the governing body of all amateur hockey within Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia.

HYHA participates in competition organized under the Chesapeake Bay Hockey League and the Eastern Junior Elite Prospects League.


Hagerstown Youth Hockey Association (HYHA) is a 501(c)(3) organization (EIN 52-2064467) promoting youth hockey in Washington County, MD and the surrounding areas of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
