HYHA is an all volunteer association that has been able to keep the fees low with help from each family in the program.    Parents will provide a $100 post-dated check (February 28, 2011) at the time of registration.  This check is a deposit and will not be cashed.  After all 10 hours have been completed your check will be shredded.  If you would like the check back voided, contact treasurer@hagerstownhockey.com after March 1, 2011.  If a family does not complete the 10 hours, the full deposit will be forfeited and the check will be cashed. 
Team managers will track hours through out the season.

1.  Concessions (our greatest need)
2.   Help with Learn to Play and Pond Hockey (limited)

Concession volunteering

Pick games or special events that are before or after your childs home game.  If not already taken, send an email to your respective team manager stating which dates you would like.  Provide a few options as this is a first come, first serve arrangement.  Families are required to contribute 10 hours per season. If you wish to opt-out, the cost is $100 and covers the expense of bring in paid rink employees.

Pond Hockey and Learn to Play

Help new participate enjoy an introduction to hockey by helping them with equipment selection, showing them how to properly dress, and working with them on the ice.  Contact Eric @ hockeydirector@hagerstownice.org to help out.


Coaches, assistant coaches and team managers are exempt as they are already volunteering their time to their respective teams.  Board members are expected to participate in the volunteer program.
